Mouvement 50 (entretien avec Laurent Chambert)

Side-Line (chronique DP)

[...Most of the songs have been sung in French, which for sure is quite sexy and very attractive
to get some more recognition. The song "Mes Yeux Bleus Dans Tes Yeux Noirs" is another fascinating
extract from this album and the mix of 80s electro-pop with some heavier and jungle-like rhythmic works
perfectly! Again the lyrics are easy to remember which just illustrates the fact that this band knows the way
to write good pop music... The very last song of the album entitled "Brise La Glace" is however a new cool
cut with a new mix of jungle and electro-pop ingredients. I here especially like the deep bass sound.
"361" is definitely a noticeable and promising debut!...]

# Press release

361 is the fi rst album of The Other Colors.

Produced by Laurent Chambert, The Other Colors, released in 2007 in the style pioneered by Rose Et Noire
(2 albums signed by Chambert/ Chambert Möör which were released by Discordian/EMI in 2003 and 2006),
delves deeper into the exploration of the world of electronica.

The appearance of Rose Et Noire aroused a strong interest from the public, curiosity from the press
(D-Side, Elegy, Side-Line, Octopus, Trax, Wire…), and more that a bit of curiosity from Libération and the
honour of their fi rst opus being chosen for ‘Albums of the Year 2003’.

We anticipate the same for The Other Colors.

‘Our aim, whilst staying within certain trends, -not only musical, but also those to do with choice of production,
distribution, performance- is to break with everything whilst keeping the things that we do best.’ LC

At the steering wheel we fi nd the same artists, but the direction in which they are going is markedly different,
more daring, and more individual.

Last May, the performance of Brise la glace at the event of Qwartz 2008 at the ‘Cirque D’Hiver’, provided
us with a snapshot that was more than convincing and received a warm reception from the public and the
professionals that had just awarded the Qwarz for ‘Experimental Music’ to Laurent Chambert, for his album
Suspense. With a full schedule (he is also working on a new album electronic-acoustic that is due to
come out on France Culture’s label Signature), this artist doesn’t fail to suprise and to turn up just when
you least expect it.

This is a trait that the artist Marie Möör also shares, whose album 361 is brought vivedly to life through her
voice and lyrics, enjoying a recent collaboration with Christophe (La Man, J’aime l’ennui, Parc Rimbaud (Wo
Wo Wo Wo) et Odore Di Femina on her last album.

361 brings together all the typical ingredients of a pop album : voice, lyrics, short tracks. However, there is
nothing typical about this album. If the genre has been followed to the letter, the resulting sound of 361, with
its multiplicity, its exuberance, its charge, produces unexpected sensations, leaving it to each listener to make
his own interpretation. There is a certain urgency, a strong emotion. A lasting impression: here, listening to
this exciting album, is a redefi nion of ‘pop’ music.’ Eric Périer (InstantNetLabel).
